Hello and welcome to my website. Fylde Coast Wildlife is, as the name suggests, dedicated to the wildlife of the Fylde Coast area. Both the Ribble & Wyre estuaries fall within the region, which also borders onto the Lune estuary at Glasson Dock, so the region is rich with wading birds, particularly during the winter months. We are also fortunate enough to have Marton Mere nature reserve, which is an SSSI, home to Bitterns during the winter months and a wide variety of waterfowl all year round, along with roosting Long eared owls together with a good variety of birds and dragonflies. Not far from Marton Mere is Stanley Park, home each spring to a heronry which is spectacular to both watch & listen to, other notable residents are the numerous Great crested Grebes, which I've had excellent views of breeding & raising young for the last two years. Another favourite place is Newton Marsh, great for Wigeon, Shoveler & Teal in the winter months and Black tailed Godwits in Spring.
Hopefully the galleries on my website will go some way towards illustrating the abundance of wildlife in the area and I hope you enjoy your stay. If you wish to make a comment about any of my photographs please feel free to email me, all feedback is appreciated.
