The owls can be difficult to photograph because of branches between you & the Owl, but it's important to stick to the paths to avoid disturbing the birds - some visitors to the reserve feel the need to climb over the fence to get a closer view which only serves to spook the Owls.

For this shot the bird lept up off the ice & into the reeds with a couple of flaps of its wings, it then dropped down again & melted away into the reeds.
